CRO Race included among top 40 most prestigious multi-day professional cycling races worldwide

Following its 10th anniversary edition, the CRO Race receives a major recognition from the UCI and joins the ProSeries category

ZAGREB, November 25. 2025. – Less than two months after the conclusion of its 10th anniversary edition, the CRO Race has officially been included in the UCI ProSeries category, further confirming the international significance and excellence of this premier sporting event. The CRO Race now ranks among the top 40 most prestigious multi-day professional cycling races in the world, alongside events such as the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye, Tour of Norway, Lidl Deutschland Tour, Lloyds Tour of Britain Men, Škoda Tour de Luxembourg, as well as the grand tours Giro d’Italia, Tour de France, and La Vuelta a España. For ten years, this unique sporting event has combined professional cycling with the very best that Croatia has to offer – stunning landscapes, natural beauty, and diverse scenery that showcase the country at its finest.

This year’s edition confirmed the high quality of organization, while the results demonstrated the consistent participation of top global teams and elite riders, including Paul Magnier from Soudal Quick-Step, double overall winner Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates XRG), and world-renowned Edoardo Zambanini and Michał Kwiatkowski. The participation of outstanding WorldTeams and ProTeams further underscores the CRO Race’s importance on the European cycling calendar. In future editions, both the total prize fund and UCI points for riders will increase, likely attracting even more prestigious WorldTour teams.

A Major Step Forward for Croatian Sport

The inclusion of the CRO Race in the 2026 UCI ProSeries will continue to attract top international cyclists, providing Croatia with global visibility and additional promotion for destination partners. This new status strengthens the race’s tourism potential and ensures the presentation of Croatian landscapes to a worldwide audience through a format that combines sport with the appeal of numerous destinations. Fans will have the chance to enjoy this premier sporting spectacle again next autumn, as the race is scheduled from September 22 to 27, 2026. The successful execution of such a demanding and high-profile project would not be possible without the strong support of key partners: the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian National Tourist Board, Hrvatska Elektroprivreda, the City of Zagreb, and numerous other institutions and sponsors who have contributed to the race’s development over the years. Their continuous support enhances both the sporting and broader societal and promotional value of the event.

“From the very first edition, our goal has been to create a race that is flawless in organization, attractive in sporting terms, and valuable for tourism. I would like to thank all our partners and sponsors, host institutions and cities, but especially the team that works daily on operational and logistical details. Their persistence and expertise are key to the success of this project. Joining a higher category means that in 2026 Croatia will welcome some of the biggest names in world cycling, which is a major step forward for Croatian sport and the promotion of our country,” said Race Director Vladimir Miholjević, adding that inclusion in the UCI ProSeries confirms the CRO Race’s status as one of the most important road cycling races in the region and represents a key element in positioning Croatia internationally as a destination worth experiencing, both on and off the bike.
